Natural Catastrophes and Man-Made Disasters
Natural Catastrophes and Man-Made Disasters
Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
We have always had earthquakes, famines, and pestilences. So how are these seen as signs of the time?
Have you noticed that since September 11, 2001 the worldwide catastrophes have intensified. Jesus said that these are to be compared to birth pains.
Mark 13:8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows (birth pains).
The closer a mother gets to delivery the more intense and closer together the contractions become. This is what we have experienced in the last six years. We haven’t been able to fully recover from on Catastrophe to another. Think about it:
- On September 11, 2001 approximately 3000 people lost their lives and
another 6000 injured during a terrorist attack on U.S. soil.
-On December 26, 2004 almost 283,000 people lost there lives in a Tsunami
- In August 2005 we lost 1800- 4000 in the Katrina Hurricane the Death Toll is still undecided.
- In 2007 over 2000 homes were damaged and destroyed in wild fires.
Did you notice that these catastrophes all caused the same results? Displacement. When people are displaced they can’t find loved ones. All of the phones lines are jammed because people are looking for lost people. Remember how people looked for their loved ones after Katrina or during 9-1-1? Could this be the Lord allowing the world a taste of what it will feel like after the Rapture? You know that after the Church is raptured (snatched away) there will be mass Pandemonium and panic. Where is my son, my mother, my husband, my wife? Where are my babies? Has anyone seen my friend? We can’t imagine how crazy everything will be. But now people are growing accustomed to displacement and being separated from loved ones. Never before in any other time in history has these events taken place with such frequency and intensity. We are truly living in the last days.
